Description
A shortened, more geometric katana, a meeting of two traditions: Japanese structural simplicity and Chinese ornamental detail.
The form is inspired by the classic samue – a simple, slightly oversized cut with wide sleeves reaching just past the elbow. They can be freely rolled up, changing the silhouette's character from architectural to light and casual. Two functional pockets complete the minimalist design.
The whole is complemented by a pánkòu (盘扣) fastening – traditional Chinese fastenings known from Tang suits.
The katana is sewn from unique fil coupé cotton in a warm walnut color.
Fil coupé is a noble weaving technique that creates a delicate, three-dimensional pattern directly in the fabric's structure. Thanks to it, the material gains depth, lightness, and exceptional interaction with light.
It works great as a cover-up, a summer jacket, or an alternative to a blazer – an element that easily changes the character of the entire outfit.

Why should you be here?
Jo.S Mission
We create clothes for women who don't want to look like everyone else. Our short runs, meticulous designs, and exquisite fabrics allow you to dress consciously – with character, without compromise.
Jo.S Vision
Jo.S is an alternative to mass production and repetitiveness. We sew ethically and locally, using fabrics sourced from the archives of the biggest fashion houses – this ensures that each item is limited edition, refined, and made from material that is difficult to acquire a second time.
We sew locally in small family-run sewing workshops, in short series and with respect for the work of experts. We use archival fabrics from the biggest fashion houses, creating an ethical and conscious essence of slow fashion.
